Cross-cultural Adjustment and Synergy Creation of Foreign Managers in China: An Empirical Study

Abstract
This research presents a comparative study of cross-cultural adjustment of foreign managers in China in
successful creation of synergies. Results of analyses were collected at individual levels by Japanese managers
and European managers working in China. The results showed communication orientation and feelings of
integration are significantly related with synergy creation. Based on the findings, further research will be
developed regarding hybrid managers and communities of practice in the Chinese context.
