Impact of Organizational Socialization on Organizational Identification in Jordanian Private Service Companies

Abstract

Given the critical role of the organizational socialization in service firms, this study explores the impact of organizational socialization process on organizational identification in private service companies. It employed a quantitative research approach and tested impacts of various organizational socialization dimensions on organizational identification. The responses of 292 employees from nine private service firms in Jordan were examined using regression analysis. The results revealed that organizational socialization significantly and positively impacts organizational identification. The results also revealed that the dimensions of organizational socialization have various effects on organizational identification and its dimensions. This study provides useful insights for private service firms to achieve organizational identification through organizational socialization. Furthermore, it expands the limited research on organizational socialization in the context of Arab firms and sheds light on how organizational socialization promotes identification in private service firms.
