The Knowledge Management Activities for Achieving Competitive Advantage: A Conceptual Framework

Abstract
The main aim of this paper is to discover the most suitable knowledge management (KM) activities ofMultimedia Super Corridor-status organisations in Malaysia (MSC Malaysia companies) in their respectivesituation in achieving competitive advanatge. Various KM activities from past researches since 1990 werereviewed and investigated. 25,932 articles were found using a keyword index search of “knowledgemanagement” in the ProQuest Central online database. After topic filtering, there were only 30 articles wererelated to the “knowledge management activities”. Based on these related topics of the 30 articles, this paperdetermines there are four KM activities in achieving organisational competitive advanatge: knowledge creation,storage, sharing and utilisation. These four KM activites were then empirically tested and verified using primarydata collected from 600 MSC Malaysia Companies.
