Abstract
Clinical Analysis Laboratories are Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the regulated health sector, characterized by their flexibility and ability to respond quickly. This sector is governed by strict regulations that ensure companies comply with established standards. In this context, Dynamic Capabilities (DCs) emerge as a relevant approach to understanding how these companies face strategic changes and deal with growing technological complexity, intensifying competition, and increasing regulatory requirements. However, there is a gap in the understanding and application of DCs in this sector, which limits the development of effective strategic management practices. This study aims to analyze the contribution of DCs to the performance of clinical laboratories in the face of the demands of the contemporary business environment. This qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study was carried out in 2024 with laboratory managers in Ceará, using semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was based on Bardin's Content Analysis, using NVivo 15 software. The preliminary results indicate that the laboratories have strategic potential, but face challenges in the areas of Quality Management, Accreditation, Competitiveness, and Market aligned with sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring mechanisms.
