Abstract
The quasi-stationary distributions {aj} for a linear birth and death process is determined by two methods. The first method
obtains our desired results by computing directly while the second method bases on the relationship between {aj} and its
limiting of probability generating function. In addition, we also obtain the stationary distribution for a linear birth, death
and immigration process with the second method.
