Abstract
Attitude of working mothers on breastfeeding was studied between December, 2011 and February, 2012 in Calabar Municipality, Cross River State, Nigeria. One hundred willing mothers were interviewed using self-administered questionnaires, for literate mothers and oral administration of questionnaires to illiterate mothers. Data were analyzed using student’s t-test and chi-square statistics. Our results have confirmed that some factors such as age, tribe, religion, occupation, marital status, educational status, health status, socio-economic status, attendance at anti-natal clinics, number of children and diverse opinions have affected the attitudes of working mothers towards EBF. We concluded that attitude of working mothers to EBF is influenced by some demographic and socio-economic factors.- Full Text: PDF
