Abstract
This study aimed to (1) examine the components of intellectual and moral development based on Buddhist principles, (2) develop a model of intellectual and moral development based on Buddhist principles for youth in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand, and (3) evaluate and certify the appropriateness of the proposed model. The research was designed as a qualitative study focusing on model development and expert-based validation. The participants consisted of educational administrators, teachers, and monks, who were selected through purposive sampling to provide professional judgment relevant to youth development and Buddhist education. The research instruments included a semi-structured interview form for model development and a model evaluation form assessing accuracy, appropriateness, feasibility, and utility. Data were analyzed using descriptive content analysis for qualitative data and descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation, for expert evaluation data. The findings indicated that the proposed model was evaluated at a high level across all dimensions, confirming its suitability as a foundational framework for intellectual and moral development based on Buddhist principles. This study contributes to the field by providing a systematically structured and expert-validated model that translates Buddhist principles into an integrated framework for future application and empirical investigation in youth development contexts.
