Environment and Natural Resources Research (ENRR) is an international, double-anonymized peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Canadian Center of Science and Education. The journal publishes original research, comprehensive reviews, and policy analyses in environmental sciences and natural resource systems.

Focus and Scope

ENRR publishes fundamental and applied scholarship on environmental processes, natural-resource dynamics, and sustainability. We welcome contributions from the natural sciences, including interdisciplinary research that bridges biophysical, technological, socioeconomic, and policy perspectives.

The journal covers the following established areas:

• Climate change, energy resources, and low-carbon transitions
• Water resources, water security, and watershed management
• Biodiversity, ecosystem services, and biological resources
• Land resources, land-use change, and soil conservation
• Environmental pollution monitoring, fate, and remediation
• Environmental exposure and health
• Urban and regional environmental systems
• Ocean, marine, and coastal resources
• Environmental remote sensing and geospatial analysis
• Ecological restoration and nature-based solutions

ENRR particularly welcomes interdisciplinary research, novel methodologies, and systems-level analyses that make a clear and substantive contribution to understanding, monitoring, conserving, protecting, restoring, or sustainably using environmental systems and natural resources.

The journal also welcomes research integrating environmental and natural resource science with technological, socioeconomic, and policy perspectives, provided that these perspectives are central to the analysis of environmental or resource mechanisms, conditions, outcomes, or governance. Such studies should demonstrate a clear practical or analytical contribution to understanding, conserving, protecting, restoring, or sustainably using environmental systems and natural resources.
