An Exploration of Integrating Ideological and Political Education into College English Blended Teaching

Abstract

President Xi has stressed on many occasions that colleges and universities should adhere to the fundamental task of moral education and carry out ideological and political work throughout the whole process of education and teaching. College English, as a public compulsory course and core general education course, is a significant course for ideological and political education. Integrating ideological and political education into College English teaching not only contributes to the realization of College English teaching objectives, but also helps students shape correct values and establish cultural confidence. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to explore how to improve College English teaching model and better integrate ideological and political education into College English teaching. This paper, firstly, expounds the significances of combining ideological and political education with College English courses; it, then, constructs a feasible College English teaching model with the integration of ideological and political education, in the aim of realizing the fundamental task of strengthening moral education and cultivating excellent and innovative talents in Chinese higher education.
