About Journal

English Language and Literature Studies (ELLS) is an international, double-anonymized peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Canadian Center of Science and Education. The journal publishes original research articles, theoretical essays, review articles, and pedagogical studies in the fields of English linguistics, literatures written in English, translation studies, sociolinguistics, and related interdisciplinary areas.

Authors are encouraged to submit complete, original, unpublished manuscripts that are not under review by any other journal. All published articles are freely available online.

English Language and Literature Studies publishes original, unpublished manuscripts in English linguistics, literatures written in English, and related interdisciplinary fields. Submissions should make a clear academic contribution to the understanding of language structure, literary interpretation, translation practices, sociolinguistic variation, or applied language studies.

- Phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis
- Historical linguistics, language change, and corpus-based linguistic studies
- British, American, Canadian, Australian, and postcolonial literatures from the Old English period to the contemporary
- Literary theory, narrative studies, poetics, and genre criticism
- Translation theory, literary translation, audiovisual translation, and translation pedagogy
- Sociolinguistics, world Englishes, language variation and change, multilingualism, and language policy
- Stylistics, cognitive linguistics, and cognitive approaches to literature
- Ecocriticism, digital humanities, and cultural studies as they relate to language or literature
- English language teaching, second-language acquisition, and educational linguistics
- Interdisciplinary studies bridging language and literature with media studies, gender studies, or postcolonial theory
