An Analysis of Spoken Discourse between Two Native Speakers

Abstract
In this paper, the author first records, transcribes and then analyses a short extract from an English conversation between two native speakers. It aims to reveal that rules and features undoubtedly exist in people’s daily speeches. Though they are quick and evanescent, speeches are more or less organized and structured. For this reason, both language learners and teachers should lay stress on rules and functions of spoken discourse.- Full Text:
