From Local Narratives to Global Understanding: Integrating China’s Stories within Graduate English Teaching
- Li Fan
Abstract
Based on CiteSpace analysis of the literature, this paper firstly outlines the state of the research on the cross-cultural and local-cultural education in the graduate English teaching in China and then identifies research gaps in this field. The aim is to advance the concept of “Cultural Education, Critical Thinking, and Creative Innovation” as the foundation for the reform of the graduate English courses. The study suggests a teaching model that integrates the development of graduate students’ general foreign language proficiency with the fostering of local culture and the development of their capacity for international communication.
