A Study on Trade of Complementarity among Xinjiang and Its Neighboring Countries

Abstract
Using the revealed comparative advantage index and the trade complementarity index, this paper studies the revealed comparative advantages and structural complementarities of export products of Xinjiang and its neighboring countries. The study indicates that, on the view of revealed comparative advantage, the electronic products, machinery and miscellaneous manufactured products made in Xinjiang and China's mainland have significant comparative advantages; on the view of trade complementarity, the trade complementarity indexes of imports among Xinjiang and its neighboring countries are decreasing, while the trade complementarity indexes of exports among Xinjiang and its neighboring countries show are ascending; on the view of the revealed comparative advantage and the trade complementarity, the trade structures among Xinjiang and its neighboring economies are mainly complementary, and subsidiarily competitive.- Full Text: PDF
