Some Aspects of the European Union’s Policy towards Central Asia

Abstract
This article examines the political framework of the European Union (EU)-Central Asian relations. The goal ofthe research is to analyze the priorities of the EU policy towards Central Asia. This article identifies commonfeatures of internal political transformation processes, foreign policy orientations of Central Asian countries, andanalyzes the EU strategy toward the region, examines the goals and objectives of the national and the EUstrategic documents, identifies the matching objectives of the EU and Central Asian countries, and describes themechanisms and policy instruments used to implement the policy in the region. The main outcome of the currentresearch is the correspondence of the objectives of the EU strategy with national goals of the countries.- Full Text: PDF
