The Stylistic Analysis of the Magazine Advertisement----Atkins Chocolate Chip Granola Bar

Abstract
This paper gives an overall analysis of the advertisement of “Atkins Chocolate Chip Granola Bar” from the aspects of linguistic description (graphological style markers, lexical style markers, syntactic style markers, grammatical style markers, and semantic style markers), textual analysis (the layout and the paragraph development, cohesive devices) and contextual analysis (medium of communication and role-relationship) by the application of modern linguistic theory and stylistic analysis pattern in order to find out the general stylistic characteristics of commercial advertisements. This paper can help readers better understand and appreciate the language of English advertisements.- Full Text: PDF
