Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by challenges in social communication and the presence of repetitive and stereotyped behaviors. Due to impediments in typical communication channels and deficits in adaptive behaviors, young adults with ASD are among the most difficult groups to integrate into society and the workforce. To better integrate young adults with ASD into society and enhance their job skills, this paper analyzes the status quo of the employment of young adults with ASD in Guangzhou. It identifies issues faced in employment and societal integration, proposes solutions for supported employment to improve their social adaptability, and aims to alleviate the employment challenges faced by young adults with ASD.
