Management Information Systems and Its Support to Sustainable Small and Medium Enterprises

Abstract

Management information systems (MIS) and its support to “sustainability”are outlined with a special emphasis
to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) development. An overview and strategy of a sustainable MIS(SMIS) is
described as a measuring, managing and innovative tool for todays’ sustainable SMEs (SSMEs). SSMEs and
their advantage over other SMEs and multinational companies (MNCs) in the light of sustainability factors are
detailed. Some existing challenges along with few limitations of SMIS are presented, along with
fourrecommendations for better effectiveness of SMIS.
